ABOUT
MSDA
Mission
The Medicaid/SCHIP
Dental Association's mission is to contribute to the optimal
oral health of Medicaid and State Children's Health Insurance
Program (SCHIP) beneficiaries by developing, promoting, and
promulgating evidence- and best practices-based state and
national Medicaid/SCHIP oral health policies and practices.
MSDA seeks
opportunities to:
- Provide
state and national leadership in the development of sound
Medicaid/SCHIP oral health policy.
- Provide
a support system to state and national Medicaid/SCHIP dental
program representatives.
- Encourage
innovation and collaboration among state and national
Medicaid/SCHIP dental program representatives.
- Promote
the integration of oral health and primary care in Medicaid/SCHIP
programs.
- Promote
an appropriate balance between the prevention and treatment
of
oral diseases and conditions.
History
On
Sunday, May 2, 2004, a majority of those present
at a meeting of Medicaid and SCHIP dental program representatives,
held at the National
Oral
Health Conference in Los Angeles, California, voted
to
create a new organization. As an association,
there can be a more effective voice for the delivery
of oral health care to the
Medicaid population.

Membership
Regular membership is open to all
state and federal Medicaid and SCHIP dental program representatives.
Associatemembers
include individuals in any public agency, voluntary organization,
tribal entity and/or health professionals, employed by or interested
in Medicaid/SCHIP dental programs. Read more in our membership

Bylaws
These bylaws,
originally approved at the May 2005 Business Meeting, were amended
by the board on April 28-29, 2007.
